Most Derby u3a members will be aware that Derby is twinned with Osnabrück in Germany. We are in touch with Sophie Bailey (City Ambassador for Derby in Osnabrück or Städtebotschafterin) about extending the links between the two cities.

We have set up a German group to learn a little about the German language, culture and geography. We are an informal group which meets on Thursdays at 10.30 every fortnight upstairs at the Carnero Lounge on St Peter's Street to chat, learn and converse in some 'holiday' German and have a tea/coffee. We are very much a mixed abilities group so everyone is welcome regardless of when you last used German (if at all).

A group of us is intending to visit Osnabrück in 2027 (details to be finalised).
