Status:Active, open to new members
Group organiser:
David
Group email: Writing for Pleasure group
When: Monthly on Wednesday mornings 10:15 am-11:30 am
3rd Wednesday
Venue: Allestree Library

The Writing for Pleasure group meets at Allestree Library on the third Wednesday of each month at 10.15 am. No previous writing experience required. Just come along to check out this friendly and welcoming group.

There are three sections to the “Writing for Pleasure” sessions:
1. We usually each write a short piece ahead of time on a specific theme and everyone then has the option on the day to read out their work. There is no pressure on anyone to read their work.
2. We discuss what, if anything, we have been reading ...
3.  We choose a random word or words and write whatever comes to mind incorporating those words to a set time limit . Everyone then has the option to read what they have written but again there is no pressure on anyone to read their work out.

There is no charge to join each session.
Allestree Library is at the Park Farm Shopping Centre and there are regular buses that leave from outside Derby Council House. There is also car parking available free of charge for three hours.
