The Walking Football group is an active U3A group (formed in early 2025), and new enquiries/members are always very welcome.

Walking football, as the name suggests, is football played at walking pace, on an indoor artificial pitch. It is a non-contact form of exercise, with players not allowed to run. We play as mixed gender teams, with the focus on enjoyment, exercise and friendship. If you enjoy football, have enjoyed football in the past, or think you might enjoy it, then this could be the perfect game for you. A good way of staying fit, and being part of a group. After each game most players stay for tea/coffee and a chat (refreshments included in the price).

Walking Football is a non-contact sport, so no tackling is allowed.

We play fortnightly at Willows Sports Centre in Derby, currently on Wednesdays 10am-11am. Willows Sports Centre is situated across the dual carriageway opposite Radio Derby. Being so close to the center of Derby there are numerous public transport options. Limited free car parking is available at the rear of the Willows building for Centre users. Pay parking is available close by if needed.
