Everyone puts £5 in the kitty to cover the cost of wine. Members take it in turn to buy the wine. We taste between 4 and 6 wines. We bring our own nibbles such as cheese, savoury biscuits etc.
We score each wine and about every 6 months, we taste the wines that have previously scored the highest, if they are still available
The room cost is £2.00 per person
We have a Whatsapp group just in case there is a change in our plans, but all notes are also sent out on email.
In March we tasted wines from the Antipodes. This naturally meant a white from New Zealand and reds from various parts of Australia. Unusually 2 of the wines we tasted were the same, brought by 2 different members. Despite splitting them up so there was a different wine in between them, most people scored them the same. You will have noticed that I said most....😂.
This red wine was a Shiraz from the Barossa Valley via Lidl and was a 'Wine to Buy Now' in last weeks Sunday Times, it cost £8.29. It tied with the white for most preferred wine. This was Waireau Cove a Sauvignon Blanc from the Marlborough region of New Zealand at £8.65 from Tesco.
The group is open to new members, please look at the Group summary page to make contact with the Group Leader.

The Wine Appreciation display at the 40th Anniversary Event at the Wardwick - strange that there's no pictures of the bottles we enjoyed!
