The Archaeology and History group went to Nottingham visiting the Caves and the National Justice Museum. Apparently there are over 800 caves hidden beneath the city of Nottingham. Our guide revealed the history of the caves, telling stories of the people that dug them and how they have been used.

At the Museum of Justice we were able to watch and take part in a re-enactment of a Georgian  trial. One of our group was accused of stealing a dog collar and another was witness to the event.  The Shire Hall where the museum is located, was the site of a number of trials and public executions. We had a guided tour of the prison cells and learned about the serious consequences of falling foul of the law a hundred and  fifty years ago.
